Parking is one of the first things to consider when planning your race day at Martinsville Speedway. The venue offers both free public parking and paid reserved options, each suited to different priorities depending on how close you want to park and how quickly you hope to leave after the race.
Fans looking to keep costs down will find several free parking areas around the track. Large lots north of the circuit along Clover Road, near Turns 3 and 4, provide plenty of space and direct access to nearby campgrounds. These areas are popular with visitors who don’t mind a longer walk to the entrances.
On the west side, just off Speedway Boulevard, another free lot offers relatively convenient access back to US-220, although traffic congestion can be heavier after the race due to the number of cars exiting the same route. If you approach from the south, the free lot near George Martin Highway is another option, though reaching the grandstands involves a bit of an uphill walk.
If proximity to the gates is a priority, paid or reserved parking may be worth considering. Premier Parking, centrally located near the display area, places you close to the frontstretch entrances and Fan Zone, though it is typically the most expensive option and can involve slower departures after the event.
North of the track, Family and VIP/Hospitality lots cater to guests with specific passes, particularly those attending hospitality areas or designated family seating sections. Premium ticket holders also have dedicated parking areas such as Club 47, Club Panorama and Reserved Suite/TV Compound lots, all within easy walking distance of exclusive entrances.
Accessible parking is available near Turn 2 Hospitality. This area provides ramp access and mobility assistance carts for guests who need them. A valid disability permit is required, and spaces are limited, so early arrival is recommended. Bus parking is typically located near Clover Road, while areas reserved for drivers and NASCAR officials require appropriate credentials.
Choosing between free and paid parking comes down to convenience versus cost. Free lots save money but may mean longer walks and more time in traffic, while reserved options place you closer to the Speedway for quicker access. Regardless of where you park, arriving early and following directions from traffic officers and parking staff will help make the experience smoother.
Parking areas generally open around 10:00 AM on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, race day, lots usually open earlier, typically from about 8:00 AM.
